I am slowly beginning to hate my job, just like everyone else in the world.

A lot of people do not like their jobs, but I used to love being an accountant. I love numbers, facts, and figures. I love finding the solution to a problem. I used to wake up in the morning with a smile on my face, but lately that smile has been a frown. A new management team took over the accounting business and they have made some changes. One of the changes that everyone is upset about is a lock on the thermostat. The office staff always had control over the indoor temperature. We never kept the thermostat set at 65 or 80, but we were always comfortable during the summer and winter months. When the new management team took over, they placed a lock on the thermostat. The only person with a key is the building supervisor and maintenance technician. No one in the office is allowed to adjust the thermostat temperature which is now set on 74 degrees. It’s extremely warm during the summer months, but right now the heat is our biggest problem. The temperature is set at 74 degrees and it is very warm and uncomfortable inside of the office. The furnace seems to run constantly. It doesn’t need to be that warm in the office. I have to wear a jacket and tie to work, and it’s becoming a nuisance with the warm temperatures. I am starting to think it might be time to look for another job. I really loved my job until recently, but I’ll leave just as quickly as I started.
