I live in an older building in a historic village, but i really like living there because it’s close to lots of parks plus small shopping areas… Living in a walkable section honestly makes a difference in your quality of life.
I’d say the hardest section about this location is having to deal with all of the old oak trees that trigger my pollen irritations to infinity plus beyond! Pollen from the trees falls on the roof of our building which in turn gets into our cooling system.
It’s in our lease that all of us are responsible for replacing the air filter every more than one months to make sure all of us are stopping more than 2 pollutants from reaching the direct air all of us breathe, but the two of us stay on top of replacing those filters, however my pollen irritations have been so poor that I started to guess that there was something else all of us should be doing. I asked my landlord when was the last time the HVAC ducts had been cleaned because I noticed a lot of dust on the outside of the vent, air ducts should be cleaned respectfully because dust, pollen, dead skin, hair, small creatures, plus more than 2 other tiny gross things can collect inside of them plus be pushed out through the vent. Even with a clear air filter, it can be difficult for the filter to clean all of the air if there is a dense amount of pollution in the ducts. I’m so happy that I reached out to our landlord to get that taken care of because my sinuses guess so much better than they did before.
