Haven’t had much advantage with heating

My house can have a big, ugly boiler in the basement.

I hated the look of it & that it took so much space up. In the family room there were 5 metal grates in the floor. It looked poor & so trashy; So I decided to cover up 4 of the grates & just leave the sizable one in the center of the family room. In the Summer I covered it with a carpet square so it wasn’t as noticeable. In the Wintertide I just dealt with that ugly grate. Since I cut so many access points for the heater, the boiler plan had a strenuous time heating my entire house. The one grate just did not legitimately do the trick. I had to invest in a ventless oil furnace for the entryway & an upstairs electric heater. The time finally came when I decided on no more boiler system. I replaced it with a gas fireplace to lay right in the family room & covered up the last grate. The family room does look way fancier & classier. I got a faux wood burning fire with a glass front plate. There is a little step that you can lay on to be near the fire. It is long enough that I can set up a bunch of holiday decorations. The downside is that the fireplace isn’t all that wonderful at heating. It frequently needs repair because it gets dirty. The remote beginning never seems to work either. The amount of heating it gives off doesn’t even compare to the boiler system.
