The owner of this Heating and A/C corporation is going to retire next year and I do not want to continue working here, his son is going to take over the day to day operations and the kid doesn’t feel anything about Heating and A/C repair.
I’ve been working in the same dead end task for the past 10 years, and the Heating and A/C corporation is only 6 miles away from my house; It takes 10 minutes to drive there in the morning. I’m genuinely spoiled by the close proximity to my condo and it is the number one reason why I do not quit and go somewhere else. There is not another Heating and A/C corporation close to condo so any change will mean a significant morning commute. I interviewed with a commercial boiler maintenance corporation about 6 weeks ago, but the drive was 40 minutes in the morning! At night, it would have been closer to an minute. The guy provided to deliver myself and others a corporation truck to drive back and forth, but it was still going to be more than one minutes of my day gone to driving in the car. I turned down the opportunity, but now I’m really kicking myself for not taking the task. I’m bored and ready for something new. He has a degree in corporation and works for an advertising corporation, then unblessedly, the guy is the only son of the owner. The whole locale is going to suffer when the corporation changes hands. It’s hard to have an owner operator that doesn’t feel the first thing about a/cs and oil furnaces. I really wish I would have taken the task with the commercial boiler maintenance corporation.
