I usually sleep just fine through the night, but recently, I had a problem.
I actually woke up in the middle of the night the other day and it was absolutely freezing in my house.
I thought that was strange and I went to check the thermostat. When I saw the temperature was 68 degrees, I panicked. I tried to get the thermostat to re-engage the heating system, but it just would not turn on. Then I tried to think about what I could do. That’s when I remembered that I had a few portable heating systems in my attic. I thought it would be ridiculous to call the HVAC company in the midst of the night while having to pay a small fortune to have my heating system fixed. This is why I grabbed the portable heaters and hooked one up in my room and the other in my living room area. I cranked both of them up. I figured it would be a small spike in my electric bills, but it definitely wouldn’t be nearly as bad as having to pay for emergency HVAC repair services. I was able to make it to the morning hours without freezing to death in my house. I couldn’t wait to call up the HVAC company to see when they could come out to fix my heating system. Fortunately, I was one of the first calls because I called right when they opened. The HVAC technician said he was on the way and he got to my place within 20 minutes. I was so happy when he was able to fix my heating system and I didn’t have any issues with the pipes freezing in my home.
