A boiler was recommended because it is a more energy efficient option. It is really good especially during days of extreme temperature changes. Actually, my husband and I loved our boiler at first. It gave us what it promised, quality heating. The HVAC company was also very prompt in giving the services that we demanded. For four consecutive years, we have never experienced any problems and did not need any boiler repairs done. Winter came and we thought that the temperature would be brutal that month. My husband and I stayed inside the house most of the time. Going out for my violin lessons was too difficult. The two of us would spend hours indoors enjoying our heater. One time, I had to go to the basement to get something. I then noticed that water was leaking from our boiler. It had gathered in a puddle that was very visible from the light in the basement. Accidentally, I stepped on the puddle, my house slippers were soaked. I told my husband the boiler was leaking and that he must call an HVAC technician immediately. He helped me on my feet. Aside from having a call to the HVAC company, my husband also called my mother who is a nurse to look at me. I turned out to be fine but the boiler needed a large repair for the first time ever.
