I got up from my seat and examined the dial thermostat
I was intently studying for my exams, trying to memorize the facts that hopefully can make me earn a good mark for the class. It was a bit humid outside and so I closed the windows and decided to turn on the air conditioner. My younger sister was in the living room. Fortunately, she had been a good girl today, and did not bother me while I was studying. I told her not to touch anything in the living room, including the dial thermostat on the wall. And she promised she would not and continued to play on her phone. An hour passed, and I felt that the room was getting warmer, I was starting to sweat. I did not take notice at first and continued studying. I was so intent on making sure that I got everything covered and wrote the facts down on a small card that will be very helpful if I want to study before the exams. I was really focusing on my task but could not ignore the heat of the room building up. I called my younger sister and asked her if she did anything with the air conditioner. She said no. She was also sweating. Mom was not around at that time to take care of her. I remembered that sometimes, she gets a coughing fit when in a warm room. The heat continued, and minutes later, she started coughing and wheezing. I got up from my seat and examined the dial thermostat. It was showing the house at 80 degrees! There was something wrong with the HVAC system.
