The oil furnace wouldn’t turn on because of a tiny problem

I had a major problem with the oil furnace in our lake house the other day.

  • It was all because of our temperature control.

I couldn’t get our oil furnace to turn on because the temperature control wasn’t getting power to it. The temperature control was one of those extravagant WIFI temperature controls, so it required an additional wire to be able to use it. The temperature control was toiling well at the start of the day, but it randomly decided to stop toiling. I called the Heating and A/C serviceman to see if he could get our oil furnace toiling, and he told myself and others that I would need to run a new temperature control wire for our oil furnace. Thankfully, the Heating and A/C serviceman had already brought temperature control wire with him, and he was able to get the whole thing installed. However, when he went to install the temperature control, he thought that he had put everything back together. He tried to turn on the oil furnace, but the temperature control still wasn’t toiling. He evaluated all of the wires and even evaluated the breaker, but the oil furnace wouldn’t turn on. We knew that the oil furnace wasn’t broken, so he guessed that the temperature control was broken, and even though I told him that I had just purchased that temperature control, he told myself and others that it was genuinely just bad. He told myself and others that he would come back the next day to upgrade the temperature control and get our oil furnace toiling. When he left, I decided to check the temperature control that he was just toiling on. I evaluated it closely, and I realized that he accidentally forgot to put the jumper wire from R to RC back in. When I put that back, the oil furnace turned right on!
