The oil furnace wouldn’t turn on because of a mini problem

I had a major complication with the oil furnace in my condo the other day.

It was all because of my thermostat.

I couldn’t get my oil furnace to turn on because the thermostat wasn’t getting power to it. The thermostat was 1 of those costly WIFI thermostats, so it required an additional wire to be able to use it. The thermostat was working well at the beginning of the day, but it randomly decided to stop working. I called the Heating plus Air Conditioning dealer to see if he could get my oil furnace working, plus he told me that I would need to run a current thermostat wire for my oil furnace. Thankfully, the Heating plus Air Conditioning dealer had already brought thermostat wire with him, plus he was able to get the whole thing installed. However, when he went to install the thermostat, he thought that he had put everything back together. He tried to turn on the oil furnace, but the thermostat still wasn’t working. He checked all of the wires plus even checked the breaker, but the oil furnace wouldn’t turn on. All of us knew that the oil furnace wasn’t broken, so he guessed that the thermostat was broken, however even though I told him that I had just purchased that thermostat, he told me that it was really just bad. He told me that he would come back the next day to upgrade the thermostat plus get my oil furnace working. When he left, I decided to check the thermostat that he was just working on. I checked it closely, plus I realized that he accidentally forgot to put the jumper wire from R to RC back in. When I put that back, the oil furnace turned right on!
