Would rather do my weightlifting class than yoga

I also want to learn various ways to tone my arms

My friend Kate is all about hot yoga. She pushed and pushed me to try out the class she goes to. I kind of thought hot yoga meant sexier poses and almost like a pole dancing class. Turns out hot yoga is just with the heating system cranked higher. I was a sweaty beast the whole time in class. Holding stretches with pit stains, crotch wetness and a dripping forehead really made for an awful time. I am sorry to all yoga enthusiasts, I just don’t think it is that great of a work out. With yoga you do get a lot of balance and stretching work. Additionally, yoga can tone the body with various holds and poses. But, yoga doesn’t get your heart pumping or you sweating unless you do the hot yoga variety and that’s cheating. Where is the weight lifting? Where is the moment in the work out where you feel you can’t breathe? That is what I look for fitness wise. I do a group fitness class in the same building as Kate, but a non-yoga one. Mine is more of a group physical training class. We do a majority of weight lifting exercises geared towards females. I don’t want to bulk up and have swollen biceps. I just want to look toned and fit. I also want to learn various ways to tone my arms. I get to use battle ropes, weighted poles and medicine balls in class. I actually feel like I am learning something and doing more fitness wise than my friend does in yoga. To each their own I guess.
