My fiance was not gleeful with me the other night when I woke him up out of a sound sleep.
I told him that I could hear someone in the basement.
She went into protective mode as she grabbed a flashlight and her gun and headed to the basement. She walked silently and if there were someone downstairs, they never would have heard him coming. Fortunately, no one was in the basement even though she was able to hear the noise I was hearing. She said it sounded care about someone was tapping on the ductwork. When she got upstairs, she heard the noise in the kitchen and it was echoing from the air vents and it actually did sound care about someone was in the basement. The two of us laid there for talking for awhile and she shushed me. She heard more noise and she abruptly realized what was going on. There was something scampering around inside the ductwork. It was too boiling for the gas furnace to be running and too cool for the air conditioning so whatever was in there was safe, however both of us had to find out how it had gotten into the ductwork. From the sound, she was guessing it had to be a squirrel, and now I was worrying that whatever was in the ductwork was going to get into my house. The next morning she called the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C supplier and told them both of us needed someone to check the ductwork because both of us had squatters. The ductwork cleaners found a nest of mice which were evicted and they patched up the hole so the mice weren’t able to get back into the ductwork.
