HVAC Maintenance Should Never Be Part of Budget Tightening

I can get so savings conscious that I can actually end up costing myself money.

While I am always hunting for a good bargain, I am also eager to cut the household budget where I am able. I never buy the name brand of anything at the store and this can save me upwards of 20 percent on my grocery bill. The shoes and clothes that I purchase on happen when the stuff is on sale. There has never been a new car in my driveway. I have always bought used vehicles. Then, it may not come as any great shock to learn that I will cut almost anything from the budget. Being the ultimate heating and cooling miser is another thing I am known for. The family complains that the only time it’s actually comfortable in our house is when the windows are open. A year ago, I whacked the heating and cooling seasonal maintenance plan. The plan had an HVAC tech coming to my home twice a year to perform preventive maintenance. However, we had never suffered any sort of breakdown so I thought I might save some money. Then the furnace went down two days before Christmas. Maybe that budget cut wasn’t so wise after all. The price I paid for the emergency service call was more than I had paid in maintenance for the last few years. Take it from me, spending money on HVAC maintenance will absolutely save you money in the long term. I wish I had been smart enough to take my own advice.
