I was blessed to have wonderful parents who loved me and raised me to love and serve others.
Although my parents were amazing parents, they did not have a lot of money.
My siblings and I never really cared that we did not have a lot of money because my parents spent so much time with us. They played with us and worked with us. I can remember a few times when we struggled more financially more than other times. One of those times was when our air conditioner broke, and we did not have any money to repair it or buy a new one. We lived in a two bedroom trailer, and there were six of us. All four of us girls shared a bedroom, and my parents had their own bedroom. We had one air conditioner for the entire trailer, but it did a pretty good job of cooling the place down. We used that air conditioner summer after summer. It worked great until one day my sister was playing in front of the air conditioner, and she realized that it was not blowing cold air anymore. My mom came and checked it out. She thought that maybe someone had put it on the wrong setting, but it was on the coldest setting for air conditioning, and it was blowing warm air. Long story short, the air conditioner was broken, and we did not have any money to fix it. My sisters and I would sleep outside when it was not raining in order to stay cool enough. I miss my parents so much, but I do not miss those hot, muggy nights in that trailer without AC.
