Dusty wedding venue

Sometimes when I’m standing in line at the grocery store staring off at the various magazines sitting in front of my face I just have to laugh.

All of the celeb mags and ridiculous tabloids are hilarious to browse, obviously, but I also get a good chuckle out of another sect of publications – the wedding magazines.

I mean, have you ever seen these things yourself? They are just too much. All the brides and grooms dressed up to the nines, standing in wonderfully picturesque environments with endless trendy decorations talking about how they managed wedding stress. It’s so absurd, and if you’ve ever planned a wedding yourself, you know this is not how it goes. I can tell you that my own wedding was such a nightmare, I couldn’t even breath. To be fair, none of the guests could, thanks to the plumes of dust that the ventilation system pumped into my wedding ceremony that day. We had chosen a historic old building as our wedding venue, and the place was outfitted with many updates, including the modern HVAC system. The old radiator heating sources had been replaced with modern forced air central heating, per the usual heating standard. Since we had a winter wedding, we were concerned about the heating situation in particular, but this traditional furnace system seemed to be adequate. What we couldn’t have anticipated when we booked the venue was how little HVAC service would be performed before the big day. They certainly didn’t clean out the air ducts that year. In the middle of our wedding the forced air furnace kicked into gear and showered the venue with a blast of dust and debri that filled the room. I doubt they publish those stories in wedding magazines.
