When I was being raised inside the central air conditioning of my parent’s house, there were some big basics that I was taught.
For sure, right from wrong had distinct boundaries back then.
And we were always respectful to adults. Mom and dad held us accountable for our mistakes but also celebrated our achievements. But no matter what, nothing came before family. Family was always there for family. I don’t know if this is an old fashioned approach but it was one that sure stuck. My having the HVAC professionals add a pair of ductless heat pumps to my basement, I was able to indeed put family first. It wasn’t exactly a shock that my little sister’s marriage was ending. However, I didn’t expect her husband to be cruel enough to force her to leave her home. Thankfully, there weren’t any children dislocated as well. Immediately, I reached out to my sister and asked her to come to us. Then, I called the HVAC professionals to see about getting some residential HVAC down in the basement. My wife and I have a fairly cozy house and we’re raising to young children. I didn’t want to disrupt that situation so the only place I could offer my sister was the basement. Yet, I knew that this could be a great spot with a bit of effort. So I cleaned it all out, and put in a sort of galley kitchen. There was already a bathroom with a shower. And once the HVAC company installed the ductless heat pumps, there was some amazing quality heating and air going on as well. My sister has her own apartment down there and can stay as long as she likes. Family does indeed come first.
