Done remodeling the house for now

There comes a time when remodeling is just not fun anymore.

When I moved into my house I was gung ho about fixing it up.

My husband and I redid all the flooring, painted the walls and scrapped the popcorn ceilings. New lights, switch plates, outlets and door handles were added. We bought a new thermostat, remodeled the bathroom and the kitchen. My husband removed the living room wood stove, patched the wood ceiling and got roofers to remove the stack on our house. Now the two of us are slowing down. There is one bathroom left that needs to be remodeled. Our windows are old and could easily be replaced. We could add a cement driveway or even a pool to increase our home value and comfort. I don’t want to do any more projects though. I just want to sit back and enjoy the fruits of our labor. My husband and I agree that if we spend money on the house it will be something that is absolutely needed. Also, it will be an addition that we personally don’t have to do. Our HVAC unit is 18 years old and could die at any day. The roof is over 10 years old as well. We could hire a HVAC dealer or roofer to do those jobs. We just sit back and pay for it. I really don’t want to pay for a new heater, AC or a roof. Those aren’t exactly fun things to spend money on. I know it is coming though. At least this way I have time to gather the funds to pay for it.
