Living in the upper part of the United States, I wait a long time for the summer season; The Winters often linger for more than a few months of the year! Every one of us often needed to run the gas furnace while I was in Springtime & fall.
The weather is windy, cold & wet the majority of the time; I am not willing to invest into central A/C.
It’s way too expensive to only use it for a few weeks! However, our brief summer seasons can be brutally sizzling & humid! While I try to be outside as often as I can, enjoying the bright skies & sunshine, I don’t want an overheated & sticky house. It’s especially crucial that my bedroom be nice & cool for sleeping. The ideal solution for my situation is window cooling systems. I was able to buy several cooling units for right around a hundred dollars each. They are lightweight enough that it’s simple for me to carry them up to the attic for storage in the Winter & bring them back down in the late Springtime. It takes me a couple of seconds to install them into the windows, then despite the small size, the cooling systems are powerful enough to drop the room temperature truly quickly. They include cordless remotes that allow temperature changes & adjustments to the fan speed without even getting out of bed. Not only are the window cooling systems energy efficient, only running them at night keeps costs super low. I sleep so much better with the cooling system operating. The noise works to drown out the sounds of afternoon birds, road construction, traffic, neighbors & barking dogs. The filter helps to capture dust & other contaminants.
