We left our pets at a doggy daycare and made sure that we would not need to be home for anything.
Both me and my wife were able to take off the entire week from our jobs. Everything was in place to be able to finally take a nice long vacation as a family. We were going down to visit a popular tourist city that had all sorts of attractions. I’m so glad that I was able to rely on my smart thermostat throughout the trip. You might think that I simply turned off the air conditioning entirely and only turned it on shortly before we arrived home. I have heard that this is not a good thing to do, as your home will get particularly hot and damp over time If the air conditioner is not cycling the air and keeping things at least moderately cool. However, I knew that I would at least be able to set the temperature to something far warmer than I would if the family was home. So that’s what I did. I adjusted the temperature via the smart thermostat app on my phone. I was able to monitor the temperature and humidity levels of the home while we were away. My smart thermostat even gave me suggestions on what temperature to set on the thermostat and what other settings to choose based on the current temperature and humidity level outside. There’s so much more to a smart thermostat than simply controlling the temperature remotely with your phone!
