A hot as blazes day at the amusement park

My four kids and I visited an amusement park today.

It’s the middle of the summer, and we live in a very hot and humid part of the country.

When I checked the weather last night, it made me hesitant to take the trip, but the kids insisted! It was going to be 98° at its peak that following afternoon during our trip, and humidity was going to be at nearly 100% for most of the day! I insisted that we bring cold water bottles to keep everyone hydrated. Needless to say, during our travels around the park, I took every opportunity possible to go into an air conditioned space. The theme park had a combination of rides, indoor attractions, and even animal exhibits. Thankfully, this provided a few moments of respite from the heat. The reptile house was one place I really enjoyed. The kids love reptiles just as much as I do, and the air conditioner felt divine! We went on a couple of those 4D movie theater rides, and the air conditioner was nice in there too. The only other time we got any relief from the heat was passing through certain areas in between rides or in line for them in which a combination of mist spraying and fans blowing kept us from passing out! Other than that, I took the kids to lunch at a bar and grill in the park, and we ate like kings and queens, keeping cool as we watched tourists pass by the window out in the heat. The final leg of this extremely tiring trip was making it back to our minivan and cranking the A/C up as high as it would go!
