Not easy using way less A/C

The other day I was surprised when my roommate texted me with a new plan for saving cash at the property.

  • She said she had been considering for a while about trying to reduce our energy expenditure so we could go on a wonderful trip together.

Truthfully, we were paying a great deal of cash for our basic utility bills every week. Both of us have been working hard to save up, however it seemed as though there were a million reasons why we didn’t put any savings in the bank. The sizable energy bill was a major contributor. The two of us had talked a few times about trying to reduce our energy expenditure, but she had made the decision that the time was upon us. She suggested that we were not going to use our a/c equipment every Summer day. She said we would save a boatload of cash simply by cutting out our cooling equipment usage in half. When I asked how we could possibly accomplish this, she said that clearly we could either remember to turn off the a/c equipment every time we left the property so that the cooling equipment wasn’t running all day long, and our other option was to use the cooling equipment for only half the days of every week. I thought this sounded nuts, but she was convinced that it was easier to turn off the AC equipment every other day than to remember to power down the cooling system every time before leaving the home. I don’t think about the durability of this energy saving technique, although I can tell you that she regularly remembers to turn the a/c equipment off every other day. I truthfully hoped she’d forget all about it.
