This was going to be my first time on a cruise ship even though I had spent a lot of my early adult years residing on an island that had numerous cruise ships passing through.
The cruise ship was humongous yet breathtaking.
It was called ‘The Yolanda’. It was due for an annual cruise in more than one weeks and I was the lead engineer assigned… My team and I were in charge of ensuring the heating and cooling unit was functioning perfectly. I was absolutely much looking forward to the cruise but first, the people I was with and I had to ensure all was toiling well prior to the cruise. The people I was with and I set out to carry out a thorough quality AC repair on the indoor air cleaning system. The a/c filter was seasoned and clogged with all sorts of dust particles, so the people I was with and I changed it for a modern one which improved the quality of air inside the cruise ship. The heating corporation I worked for had provided the heating unit that was used for the electric furnace and the radiant heater. As an a/c rep I had done the cooling install and knowing more about HVAC, I established that the people I was with and I needed an oil furnace to combat the severe unforgiving weather of the ocean. The people I was with and I found that the gas furnace had numerous cracks that would have been severely dangerous to almost everyone aboard the ship. My team and I performed the boiler repair and upgraded the climate control with a Wi-Fi control unit. A month to the start of the long cruise, the people I was with and I decided to go over the method tune-up again just to be extra sure that all was well. I was all smiles when the day finally came when the people I was with and I started towards the ocean. It was an experience to remember.
