The great outdoors are great until your AC breaks at the resort

Vacationing sounds awesome right? We all want to have that warm sunny breeze on our faces as we cruise along the coastline.

Hot summer days can be a fun time when you do it right, but the sun can be a hard puppy to deal with! We went on a trip across the country and stopped at one of our log cabins we traditionally vacationed at.

Beautiful views, plush sofa beds, great insulation and a wood burning stove was all at our fingertips! We sometimes went in the cold winter climates to the installation in the woods, and who knows the age of it. The ducts were very old and had dust and spider webs on them. The vents needed to be changed. The worst thing that can happen in the summer is being exhausted all day from being out and about and then coming home to your HVAC unit not working, well there are maybe a few things worse but not many! You get home after a long day and you want your cool insulated house to keep you cold and refreshed. HVAC repairs can be time consuming and costly. The air was thick and humid and we had a team of 4 in the cabin. We had old fashioned insulation and big thick wood to fortify the cabin, we had to wait until the morning at earliest or fix it ourselves. We didn’t foresee this coming, and now we had at least one night sweaty and the next day we had a wedding reception. The HVAC Technician came and was kind and friendly, it took 4 hours though so by the time he came it was almost two days in the heat. Remember to see how old your air conditioning unit can be if you are going to be using someone else’s in an older establishment.
