Scaring my kid straight with HVAC work

I found out my kid is failing middle school.

I have been trying all year to get her to focus, although she refuses, as well as it is not a matter of not being smart enough, she just has total indifference to school. She doesn’t like it, as well as refuses to try her best, or even a moderate amount, as well as her grades are awful. I decided to keep her out of school 1 day so she could go to work with me. I have tried talking to her numerous times, to no avail, as well as I was hoping this would be the wake up call she needed. I work mostly with installing commercial grade HVAC systems, usually in contractors or strip malls, hardly ever any residential work. I assume it’s a pretty good job, however it is a lot of physical labor, as well as it’s that aspect of HVAC work that I was hoping would terrify her straight, so to speak. If you are used to sitting in an air conditioned classroom all day with your pals, having to crawl around in small air ducts as well as lug tools around would genuinely seem pretty awful. My kid seemed to like it, though, or at least she liked the aspect of doing HVAC work for a paycheck at the end of the week. She didn’t love grades, she cared about money, so I told her what kind of money an HVAC tech could make if they had their certification, but eve undoing a job like this requires some education, although the path to HVAC certification is much shorter than that of a school degree.
