Always frigid when I go house for the holidays

After school I moved down south & never regretted it.

  • I like the Summer heat & that it doesn’t snow.

I like the friendly people & the beach being so close. I still have to go up north for the holidays though. It stinks buying an expensive plane ticket to lay around in a frigid house because it is Christmas, then my family is hardcore since they have lived in the north their whole lives. The winters there can get down to the downside twenties. My parents hardly can feel the frigid anymore. In the fall my mother refuses to turn on the oil furnace system. Since Wintertide is so long, he is trying to keep the energy bills low. She only will allow many months of heating. That means the gas oil furnace doesn’t turn on until November & instantly turns off in March. November 31st & May 1st are legitimately frigid days in my family household. Even when the heating plan is on, it is set to a legitimately low temperature. I frequently complain & whine to my mother all of Christmas. I have to bundle up in blankets & jackets in order to not freeze to death. My parents hardly notice the frigid anymore. For Easter it is consistently a shell game. Sometimes the north has snow on the ground & that is better for me. I get to have heating when I go home. If the sun is out & the northerners consider it good weather, off goes the oil furnace even if it is in late May that year.
