I am drawing the line

Have you ever had a guest that overstayed their welcome? I didn’t, that is, until my sibling who is an active alcohol user, was evicted from her apartment.

She begged and pleaded with her eyes and told myself and others her and her 5 year old child would be stuck on the streets if I did not help them, however with her being my younger sibling, I have always felt protective over her, and I did not want my nephew to suffer due to his mother’s reckless nature, so I decided to let them stay at my place for awhile.

Ever since she has stayed, she has made my home a mess! beer bottles line every corner of her room, and she has dirty clothes piled up on MY furniture. Half eaten and rotting food kneel around, which has started to attract bugs. I believe appreciate a servant, having to clean her messes everyday only for her to make a up-to-date one each afternoon. Not only that, even though she has not made any attempts to get a place of her own, she just drinks, parties and invites strangers into my home. I only have one rule, which was to keep my air conditioning off during the afternoon while I was at work, even though she could not even handle that. She instead kept the cooling equipment running all afternoon, which in turn tripled my previously low electricity bills. It was a constant battle to remind her about the a/c component, which she never remembered. Apart from the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C unit, I kicked her out as soon as she started neglecting her son. I pointed her towards the nearest women’s shelter and told her when she gets her life sorted, she could have her child back. Now my nephew can live a stable life, and my cooling system’s bills are back to normal.
