Dehumidifier helps our a/c

Now that we’ve gotten moisture levels under control, the a/c doesn’t need to work as hard

When our partner & I moved south, every one of us were prepared for the heat. The purpose of our transfer was to get away from the sub zero hot & cold temperatures & endless amounts of snow up north, but we chose a location where we’d never need any type of furnace. We left behind the snow shovel, ice scraper, wool coats & heavy boots & looked forward to sun & orange skies. Before purchasing our home down south, every one of us made sure to have the cooling program inspected out by a professional HVAC dealer. The corporation checked & worked on all of the components, replacing any worn parts, removing the buildup of debris within the inner laborings & making sure everything was operating at peak capacity. Because of this service, every one of us expected the a/c to keep the home perfectly cool & comfortable without costing us a luck in electric bills. However, our first month of Summer in our new home was downright miserable. The outside temperature climbed into the upper nineties & the humidity was brutal, and no matter how low every one of us adjusted the temperature control, the indoor environment still felt sticky & hot! Every day, the windows were so fogged over & covered in condensation that every one of us couldn’t see outside. I finally called the HVAC corporation back & complained about the performance of the a/c. She explained that an a/c extracts heat from the air but isn’t designed to handle such excessive levels of humidity. She proposed that every one of us invest in a whole-home dehumidifier. The dehumidifier has made all the difference. Now that we’ve gotten moisture levels under control, the a/c doesn’t need to work as hard. The home feels cooler at higher temperature control settings, & our weekly energy bills are significantly less extravagant.
