Whenever we have a meaningful family gathering, they all want to go into the kitchen.
All of us have a wood burning fireplace in the kitchen and it makes it undoubtedly warm and comfortable to hang around in.
The kitchen doesn’t have a table in it, so it has also become a second kitchen. What was meant to be the kitchen, we changed. I didn’t need a formal sitting room. All of us had our eating area in the kitchen, ready to go. All of us put a big cozy couch in front of the wood burning fireplace. All of us have a couple of plush chairs in the circle. There is a large faux bear skin rug right in front of the fireplace. There are comfortable stools and benches in the room and we have a game table. The kids enjoy to rest there with their games and we rest in front of the fireplace and relax with their friends. Sometimes the kids will bring their board games over and spend hours resting in front of the fireplace and play. They care about old school games like Scrabble and Monopoly. Sometimes, my partner and I will also relax on the couch after the kids all go to bed. The wood burning fireplace has been the source of major decision and lots of joyous laughter. Without the fireplace, I’m sure we would not all be nearly as gleeful as we are. The wood burning fireplace has become the heart of our home and our family. I truly feel I would not have a home without a fireplace.
