Working in the office

I have to say, I’m not the happiest in my current job. I thought it was going to be great. When I accepted my job position, they painted a picture of inclusion and fun. It seemed like a really sociable and relaxed place to work. I felt like I was lightyears ahead of the other employees with my background in science. I thought I was going to be a rockstar employee and rapidly climb to the top of the organizational structure. In reality, I’ve been dragged through each day at this job. I haven’t had a great time since I started working here. I haven’t felt like there was fun or social life built into the job. Frankly, I’ve been ready to quit for months. I’m just waiting for the opportunity. The biggest problem for me is having to commute into work to sit in the office for no apparent reason. When I interviewed with my boss, he said I could work from home a great deal of the time. In reality, I get in trouble every time I try to work remotely. I hate this mostly due to my weird internal thermostat. You see, I’m not equipped with a body that can handle diverse indoor air temperatures. When it’s hot and muggy on the production floor, they crank up the AC in the office where I work. I spend every hour of the day shivering in my seat and rubbing my freezing cold hands together trying to generate heat. If I was able to work from home, I could control the central AC and heater with the click of a button on my phone. Instead, I can never seem to get warm. I’ve tried to compromise and find a better temperature for everyone, but no one will let go of the AC level. I guess I’ll just freeze until I can find a new job.
