I live in this old apartment building, that I thought had all of the modern updates.
About a month ago, the air conditioning broke down, and now I’m not thinking so well.
There are twelve apartments in our building, and none of us are happy about the situation. It was bad enough that the city was doing rolling blackouts because of the energy use from all of the air conditioning usage. Having the AC break down, just made it 100X worse. We were all calling the maintenance man, but he told us he couldn’t get the parts for the air conditioning. I could only wonder how ancient the AC unit was if they couldn’t get any parts to fix it. After a week, I was calling the landlord. I told them they needed to get the air conditioning fixed or have a new AC unit installed. His excuse was that there weren’t any AC systems available. I knew this was a bit far-fetched, but who was I to say if he was lying or not. After another week, I knew I had to do something. I wasn’t able to get anything done in my home, because my brain was fried. I went to town and I bought a cooling tower. A cooling tower is a type of portable air conditioner. It doesn’t just blow the air around, but it cools the air. It works like an oscillating fan. The cool part of it is, if I wanted the cooling tower to work like an evaporative cooler, there was a well in the back, where I could put ice. If this doesn’t work, I am going to ask for the couch in my best friend’s apartment.
