I loved the fact that I was able to do some travelling and still get paid.
I took the job as a travelling sales representative because of my love to travel, and because the money was amazing.
I owned my own home, and I truly thought I would be able to keep up with my house. I was so wrong with that one, because I wasn’t home too often. My brother still lived with our parents, so I asked him if he would house sit for me when I was away. He gladly agreed, until there was a problem with the HVAC system. My brother was a real mama’s boy, and at the first sign of a problem, he went back home. He called and told me the AC unit had quit working, and he was back at our parents. I told him I would call the HVAC company and get them to come over and fix the air conditioner. Unfortunately, we were in the middle of summer and staying at the house without AC was unbearable. We lived in the deep south. I could understand his leaving, but he didn’t want to sit there and wait for the HVAC technician, either. I had to try to get the HVAC company to coincide their schedule with mine. I worried about mold and mildew if it went much more than a few days. Fortunately, I was able to get the AC unit fixed within a week. I had accrued enough emergency leave to be able to go home for a week, and I happened to be pretty close to home.
