My friend and I had a small household built as an addition to our home, plus although it cost quite a bit to build, we were able to use the money from the sale of his house, however the Heating as well as Air Conditioning business said that our existing heating plus a/c had the capacity to heat/cool the additional square footage. He strongly recommended that we install a ductless mini split system, as older folks tend to have entirely different preferences for thermostat settings than others. My friend and I chose an Heating as well as Air Conditioning controller that looked a lot like the remote control for our TV. This remote control would allow us to turn the system on or off, set the temperature, air speed, plus vane direction. My friend and I did look into having a wi-fi adapter installed, which would have allowed control over the Heating as well as Air Conditioning system from a mobile device… But we decided against the extra cost. Once my mother moved into his current apartment, he was entirely grateful to us, although it took his awhile to adjust to his current home. But we have no regrets regarding our Heating as well as Air Conditioning choices. Had we not chosen the mini split system plus corresponding controls, he would have wanted the heat plus air conditioner set too high for our comfort level.
