It’s nice to know people that have specialized skills… I have a friend from school who became a healthcare expert a few years ago! He does not see me officially, but if I ever have a medical question I can call him whenever he has not at work.
I mean it’s just really nice knowing somebody who is a doctor & can abruptly address a concern that you might have with your body on a random afternoon, then for instance, it cost me at least $50 as a copay just to see my regular physician for a random appointment.
I tell my friend all the time I do not know what I would do without having him in my life, because of all the medical questions I inevitably get with the conditions I have; These are the types of friends that you need to hold on to for as long as possible… But it’s also really nice to date somebody who has a lot of specialized expertise as well, then my partner for instance is entirely well trained in the trades… She started out as an apprentice carpenter for his aunt & abruptly became an electrician as well. But the industry that he ended up liking the most is the heating & cooling industry. She’s currently a residential HVAC corporation for a giant heating & cooling corporation here in the city. She has so many specialized skills when it comes to cooling systems & heaters that I never have to worry about us having issues with his HVAC systems as a result. She just knows so much that it’s such a sizable relief & a weight off my chest.
