I had some good & bad experiences when I was in university for sure, then on the one hand though it was self-explanatory to find a group of friends compared to private school.
I met students around me within the first few afternoons of moving into my dorm room.
The way the dormitories were designed that year it basically made it hard to avoid getting to know the students that lived around you. All the doors would open up to common areas outside. And there were picnic benches & chairs in those common areas as well. So my buddy and I developed a tightly knit group of friends & my buddy and I had all sorts of adventures together partying during the first year of university. It was fun on the one hand, but I also had some emotional experiences trying to date. It’s hard to date when you are in university & everybody’s just focused on the long-term future instead of trying to find something to do right here & right now. I also had a university dorm room with a really bad furnace inside living in a region where it gets freezing outside a lot. It’d be one thing if I had been going to university in the South however this school was in the northeast. My friend and I really needed a good furnace to get through the winter season, however every month my buddy and I asked, the administration would avoid us. By the time I got to my second year university, I was living in a strange building where the various central heaters were much better.
