Imagine scrolling online and you come across the perfect place for a short vacation.
Well, last summer, we happened to have two weeks off work and weren’t sure what to do.
To be honest, we didn’t plan ahead because I wasn’t sure I’d get the time off. By the time my schedule was confirmed, it was too late to plan an out of the country trip. So, we began looking for local places to go and visit. My partner and I thought about a road trip, and we were choosing a destination. One day I was in the office scrolling on my phone when I saw this lovely cottage by a lake. The place looked amazing, I mean those pictures were mesmerizing. So, we booked it, packed out bags, got in the truck, and drove there. Upon arrival, we got the key where the rental agent had left it, and noted the cottage was muggy and hot when we got inside. My partner went to find the AC and turn it on while I opened the windows to let in some fresh air. He came back with bad news that it seemed the AC wasn’t working. I had a feeling this place was available for a reason, so I double-checked the advert. Lo and behold, I saw a tiny caption that there was no AC since it was faulty. We thought about canceling the trip, but the surroundings were beautiful. So, instead, we got back in the truck and drove to a town we had passed to get a portable AC to use on this short vacation. Lack of AC in the cottage wasn’t going to ruin this for us.
