A dehumidifier helps to adjust comfort and efficiency

High humidity causes a lot of concerns.

A moist environment encourages dust mites, cockroaches and mold growth.

Bacteria and viruses thrive in high humidity which then creates concerns with indoor air quality, however contaminants become airborne, circulated by the cooling system and breathed by occupants of the home. Headaches, sore throat, congestion, itchy eyes, sneezing and coughing can be blamed on high humidity… Symptoms of pollen irritations, respiratory infection and asthma attacks are worsened. There can be significant disfigurement to apartment furnishings such as antiques, musical instruments, hardwood floors, doors and molding. Anything wood tends to swell and warp in high moisture environments, but plus, excessive humidity makes the air feel hot and clammy. It can be tempting to lower the control unit, which puts more work on the cooling system. The cooling system uses more energy, experiences greater wear and tear and there’s an increased risk of malfunction. Higher energy bills are combined with inferior comfort. It can be taxing to sleep at night and feel energized during the day. While cooling systems pull heat out of the air and help to combat humidity, more powerful measures are often necessary; Living in the south, I decided to invest into a whole-house dehumidifier. I tried to achieve improvement with portable dehumidifiers and got nowhere. I had to constantly empty the reservoir and noticed little reward. The larger, better air quality component is installed right into the cooling system and pulls moisture out of the air as it passes through. I’m able to customize the level of the humidity to my family’s preference. My associate and I save on our energy bills and prefer superior comfort and healthier air quality.
