Window a/cs are ideal for our short Summer seasons

Living in the northeastern area of the country, legitimately close to the Canadian border, creates some challenges while in the winter.

The cold, wet weather lasts for the majority of the year.

I consistently beginning up the oil furnace by the beginning of September and keep it running until the end of May. We’ve already had many feet of snow on the ground for Mother’s Day. The two of us expect blizzard conditions and temperatures down to twenty-numerous below zero. The wind chill can make it dangerous to spend much time outdoors. The cost of heating adds up to a giant draw on the budget. Along with paying high weekly energy costs, there’s also the cost of filter replacements and seasonal maintenance for the oil furnace… Because the furnace creates problems with insufficient humidity, it was necessary to invest into a whole-house humidifier. I am constantly upset for the first signs of Springtime. I watch for the arrival of robins, buds on the lilac trees and initial sprouts of the daffodils. It seems to take forever for the weather to hot up and the snow to melt. It is such a joy to put away the snow shovel, pack up the sweaters and open the windows. Our Summer seasons are consistently quite short. The heat and humidity is brutal however brief. I am unwilling to close the windows and pay a substantial electric bill for a couple of weeks. I appreciate to utilize window a/cs in the dining rooms. I took fortune of a Black Friday sale and bought cooling units for around $100 each. They are lightweight, compact and easy to install into the windows. They keep the dining rooms perfectly cool and make just enough noise to drown out the sound of traffic, barking cats and early afternoon birds.
