I was watching an old Christmas movie last week, and they were simply singing about dreaming of a white Christmas.
My husband offered out the obligatory ‘bah humbug’ and walked away, then I thought it was an unbelievable movie, and one our mom and I would watch every year since I was a little girl! He walked away and said the only thing he was dreaming of was using the a/c unit! Wintertide hadn’t yet officially arrived, and he was already tired of it.
We had a lot of snow already, and the temperatures had been consistently below average; however, I was looking forward to more snow, and maybe some skiing. When he told myself and others to call our sibling because he wasn’t really going along, I got aggravated. He had never actually gone on a ski trip with myself and others in the twenty years the two of us had been together. I finally told him there were lodges at the ski resort. They had really excellent heating systems and they all had fireplaces, then there was a warm tub to relax in and ice fishing to enjoy. He loved fishing, but he still wasn’t actually buying it. He said if he wanted to freeze, he would do it in our beach lake house and not go to the mountains. His prayer was answered when he woke up the next day and the gas furnace had died. I told him he was given his a/c now, however it was the wrong time of year for it, and walked away. He told myself and others our sarcasm wasn’t needed and called the heating and A/C business. They had nothing available that day, and he was going to need to go separate from the gas furnace for at least 24 hours.
