When it came to the garage, just giving an inch pretty much cost me that space for a lot of years.
Maybe, that’s just me but it sure feels like how all that went when it comes to having the garage be in such shape.
When we first bought this house, I was just excited to have a big garage. I could actually fit both cars in the garage with a little bit of space. This was the first time we actually had cars inside the garage. There was even a little bit of room for me to put a workbench and work on my little projects. I enjoy being inside the air conditioning with my family, but it’s also great to have a place where I can kind of slide out and be alone. The garage was very much that space for me. And I was very careful not to allow a bunch of stuff to just get thrown out there. However, once we started having children, I was spending far more time inside the quality heating and air than I was in the garage. That change also ushered in the era of the garage becoming a sort of dumping ground. It didn’t take long before we had to park both cars outside and even my workbench wasn’t seen for years. Not too long ago I spent three full days cleaning out the garage and getting it back in order. Then I called the HVAC company to have them come out to install a ductless heat pump in the garage. I just love having air conditioning out in the garage. And now that it’s all organized and clean, it makes this space a very appealing spot for me to spend some moments alone with my thoughts.
