Our HVAC was set to heating mode

The other day when my daughter was doing her homework in the bedroom, she asked me if I could help her out with her homework, and she was struggling with some of the math problems, and luckily, I was able to help her out, however I ended up asking why it was so warm in the bedroom and my daughter said, “I know right!” She said he turned on the cooling system, then we have Heating and Air Conditioning zone control in our house and the study room section has its own customizable temperature control settings along with many other zones in the house. I went to check the temperature control to see what my child set the temperature control settings to. She had it set at 70 degrees and it was on heating mode! I asked her why he did that and she shrugged and said, “I don’t know, I thought you just push the button and the cooling unit turns on.” She genuinely had no idea what she did wrong and I tried to explain the different buttons on the thermostat and what they do. It felt sort of like I was explaining rocket science to her, because she just wasn’t getting it. I switched the temperature control to cooling mode and put it at 70 degrees which I thought was reasonable considering the outdoor temperatures were in the mid 70s. She was so much more comfortable when the cooling unit was finally working; That’s another good thing about Heating and Air Conditioning zone control, it doesn’t seem to take long to heat or cool a room to the desired temperature control settings.
