Me and my husband were suffering through a terrible living situation for quite some time.
Don’t get me wrong, we both get along great, and our family is happy and healthy.
Nevertheless, for the longest time, we had a terrible stench in our house and we could not figure out the source of it. We started noticing it a few months ago. As time went on, the stench grew worse and worse until it was permeating the entire house. The two of us attempted to cover the smell with air fresheners and candles, but nothing made it go away. Even opening up every window in the house and letting fresh air in did not mitigate the terrible smell. It was quite some time before we figured out the source of the smell. We finally hired a climate control technician to perform a routine maintenance service on our air conditioner device, and during the inspection he looked into the air vents and found something awful. Our HVAC ducts were colored green and black inside with something putrid. The HVAC technician scrubbed the ductwork clean of all the mold and mildew build up, and finally the smell was gone. Me and my husband will never again neglect making sure that our HVAC system is completely cleaned and maintained regularly. I don’t think we’ve missed a single HVAC checkup since this incident. It all goes to show, take care of the things that you love before they leave a stink in the air. That’s the lesson we learned!
