My partner stinks

When my wife said she wanted to get a part time job again so she could pitch in on the bills, I guess I was ecstatic.

For the past 20 years of marriage I’ve been paying for everything for us, and with prices climbing all the time it’s been very stressful.

I want to take care of my wife and family, but at the same time, it’s getting impossible. Once in a while it would be nice if someone else could at least pitch in for the energy bill or the HVAC repair bill. I think this is on my mind because our heating, cooling, and air quality control system has always been a problem for us. We get into a lot of conflict about the indoor air temperature and can never settle on a shared thermostat program that makes everyone happy. Instead, we bicker endlessly about turning on the cooling system or the heater seemingly all day, all season. Too bad, this all has been even more complicated with my wife’s new “job.” My wife is peddling some stinky-ass candles that completely ruin the entire house. Every time she gets a new shipment in, it’s like someone sprayed air freshener right in my face for two days straight. The heating and cooling system isn’t helping with the stench because it picks up the smelly odors and transfers them all around the house. The air ducts are like smell spreaders every time the thermostat instructs the AC unit or furnace to operate. I cannot escape from the stinky indoor air no matter what I do or what air filter I try to use. Meanwhile, it’s not like she’s offering to pay for those air filters, duct cleanings, or an air media purifier to undo this damage.
