It wasn’t cheap having to pay for emergency air conditioner repairs

I hate it when sudden problems arise after you’re certain that you’ve addressed the possible concerns ahead of time.

When I left for my road trip, I thought I had gone over every possible problem area with my mechanic. With that in mind, you can imagine my sheer sense of surprise when my alternator quit working when I was only a third of the way into my vacation, causing me to get emergency mechanical repairs late on a Friday evening so I could get back out onto the road and avoid a hotel fee as well. Thankfully I found a mechanic who was willing to do the work right away and I wasn’t left waiting for hours before I could resume my journey. It wasn’t cheap, but I was in a bind and didn’t have a choice. Recently I had a similar problem at home that left me spending money on emergency repairs that were completely unexpected. My air conditioner was acting up on my one Saturday afternoon and I assumed it had merely frozen, but that wasn’t the case. I turned off the air conditioner for an hour and turned it back on, but the air leaving the vents was still warm. By this time it was already Saturday evening and I had no choice but to call the emergency line for my HVAC supplier. This was the first time I had ever called for emergency HVAC repairs during weekend hours, and in the evening no less. The cost of the repairs was higher than it would have been during the week, but it wasn’t as high as I was expecting. I guess I was lucky that the repairs to the air conditioner were minimal.
