As a heating and cooling technician, it always makes me so happy to see people taking proper care of their HVAC machines.
Part of that is because a lot of people don’t take proper care of their heating and air conditioning units.
So when I see someone that takes pride in their HVAC systems like I do, it makes me happy. Even for the people that mean well and want to do what is best for their heating and air conditioning systems, a lot of times they don’t know how or they are doing things wrong. One of the most common things I see people get wrong is how often they should get their heating and air conditioning machines maintained. A lot of people don’t think a heating unit or cooling system needs HVAC tune ups unless it has a problem, but that is simply not true. You are supposed to get HVAC maintenance twice a year, in the fall and in the spring. The second most common thing I see people get wrong is the type of filters they use. The most common air filters people use are the cheap generic kind, ones that are not good for the health of the heating and cooling device. I highly recommended HEPA air filters, they are some of the best A/C filters you can find. Actually, most recently I went to a home of a person that used HEPA air filters, and I wasn’t surprised because I could tell their HVAC machine was well taken care of. Yours could be too if you make the switch over.
