Smoke stays in the Heating and A/C device for a long time

I have l received the taxing way that smokes stays in the Heating and A/C units of a apartment for a honestly long time, however my spouse and I do not smoke, and the two of us have never smoked.

It is pretty important to us not to smoke. My spouse can’t even sit the odor of cigarettes on someone. Therefore, when the two of us are trying to rent a house, the two of us want to make sure that the two of us cannot odor cigarette smoke. When the two of us were checking out the apartment the two of us live in now, the two of us couldn’t odor any smoke. The property owner told us that smoking was banned in the apartment. However, once the two of us signed the lease, the two of us figured out that the previous leaseholders smoked. Both of us discovered this by using the Heating and A/C units. Whenever the two of us used the furnace or central air conditioning, the two of us could odor smoke coming through the vents. At first, the two of us thought that the neighbors were smoking and that it was somehow coming through our Heating and A/C unit. However, when the two of us talked to the property owner, the two of us found out that the Heating and A/C device had been in the apartment for a long time, and smoking wasn’t regularly against the rules. Apparently, the odor of cigarette smoke stays in an Heating and A/C device for a long time, and it is taxing to get the odor out. Both of us didn’t odor the smoke at first because the property owner turned the Heating and A/C units off while the two of us were inspecting the house. Both of us have tried everything to get the odor of smoke out of the Heating and A/C units, but nothing has worked so far. Now, the thermostat for our Heating and A/C units is adjusted to ensure that they aren’t used often so that our spouse doesn’t odor the smoke.
