Having your heart in the right stadium does count for something.
But most times, it just doesn’t count for much.
While I try to live my life with good intention, occasionally even good intentions can get you in trouble. And that’s exactly what happened to me when I tried to service the gas oil furnace 1 cold night. While my intention was to get the Heating & Air Conditioning heating back on for my family as fast as possible, I also had some self interest going on there. If I could find a easy problem then maybe I would have to spend money for an emergency Heating & Air Conditioning service call in the middle of the night. Plus, when it’s the middle of the night & your husband is hunting for the space heaters, you actually do want an self-explanatory fix. And I thought I found 1. There was a actually smudged out part that I thought might be the problem. I took it out & cleaned it up & then stuck it back in. The gas oil furnace fired back up however it sure wasn’t acting right. It seemed to be getting too hot. Sure enough about 30 minutes later the gas oil furnace slammed shut with a bang & there was no more heating. That’s when I finally broke down & called the Heating & Air Conditioning dealer. The Heating & Air Conditioning serviceman got out fairly swiftly & he said that part was designed to do what it did to keep the gas oil furnace from overheating. And I sort of bypassed that with what I did. However, I lucked out that the Heating & Air Conditioning machine wasn’t ruined. That would have been awful because I found out later that by doing what I did, I voided the warranty on the Heating & Air Conditioning equipment.
