Having your heart in the right place does count for something.
But most times, it just doesn’t count for much. While I try to live our life with good intention, sporadically even good intentions can get you in trouble. And that’s exactly what happened to me when I tried to fix the gas oil furnace a single freezing night. While our intention was to get the Heating and Air Conditioning heating back on for our family as fast as possible, I also had some self interest going on there. If I could find a easy concern then maybe I would have to spend money for an emergency Heating and Air Conditioning service call in the middle of the night. Plus, when it’s the middle of the night and your wife is hunting for the space heaters, you entirely do want an easy fix. And I thought I found a single. There was a entirely smudged out part that I thought might be the problem. I took it out and cleaned it up and then stuck it back in. The gas oil furnace fired back up however it sure wasn’t acting right. It seemed to be getting too hot. Sure enough about 30 sixths later the gas oil furnace slammed shut with a bang and there was no more heating. That’s when I finally broke down and called the Heating and Air Conditioning company. The Heating and Air Conditioning worker got out fairly hastily and he said that part was designed to do what it did to keep the gas oil furnace from overheating. And I sort of bypassed that with what I did. However, I lucked out that the Heating and Air Conditioning unit wasn’t ruined. That would have been bad because I found out later that by doing what I did, I voided the warranty on the Heating and Air Conditioning equipment.
