For years, after we first moved down here, I constantly dreaded the summer.
Looking back, that was entirely just stupid really.
I mean we moved down here to appreciate all the outdoors stuff available year round. But I was staying cooped up inside the all summer. For some reason, I just couldn’t adjust to the heat. Well, I now recognize why that was. I got to the a bit too early in the Spring. Where I came from, when the temps hit the 76’s, we flipped the temperature control to Heating and Air Conditioning cooling. And so that’s just what I did when I moved here. That was our mistake. Hitting start on the Heating and Air Conditioning cooling so early meant that I needed so much more once the real heat of Summer got here. And that messed me up 2 ways. One, I just couldn’t deal with the heat at all and stayed inside for almost 2 months. The other was that our Heating and Air Conditioning utility costs were outrageous. Even though I was keeping the apartment slim and stopping any sort of direct sunlight heating, I had the temperature control cranked. When it’s almost a hundred degrees outside and the temperature control is set at 73, that’s gonna cost sizable bucks. It took me a few years to entirely figure it out. But boy am I cheerful I did. While it’s indeed scorching tepid during the peak heating sixths, there is still the day and evening to enjoy. And it’s just too lovely around here not to get out and appreciate what nature has to offer. But getting inside the after lunch is a good proposal as well.
