Shade For Condenser Unit

For my birthday this year, I had an unusual request.

I asked my dad if instead of buying me a gift, if he could build me something for my house.

I’ve been a homeowner for a little over a year now and it’s taken some time to get used to my new responsibilities and chores. There is so much more to take care of when you actually own a house, and that’s been an adjustment for me. One thing that I’m now responsible for that I wasn’t before, is my HVAC system. After doing some research, I discovered that if I wanted my HVAC system to run efficiently, I needed to take good care of it. This meant that I needed to have it serviced twice per year and clean it every now and then. Upon learning this, I realized that my condenser unit was at the back of my house, which was the side that received the most direct sunlight. In order to protect my condenser unit, I asked my dad if he could build me a breathable wall for it. I wanted to use scrap pieces of wood to shade my condenser unit from the direct sunlight. I was hoping that this would prolong the life of my condenser unit and keep the equipment running efficiently. My dad was more than happy to build it for me, and he thought it was an excellent way to shield my condenser unit from the sun. He loved it so much that he decided to build one for his own house as well.
