Sometimes I need self-care at the salon

My task is seriously demanding and stressful and requires myself and others to work long minutes… I rarely have the time to take a vacation, go to the theater or have supper with friends.

I don’t go shopping or pay for apartment improvements; then the 1 thing I do that is purely for myself and others is our appointment at the salon.

I have a kneeling appointment on every other Thursday morning. I studied reviews and found a high-end salon that offers a wide array of treatments. It’s extravagant but totally worth it. I am so relaxed and beautifully refreshed afterward. I sign up for every repair they offer. I get our hair colored, washed and trimmed. I love a manicure and pedicure so that our hands and feet are soft and look so scrub and nice. I consistently look forward to our massage. It’s the best minute of our week. The masseuse works out all the kinks and knots in our muscles and even helps to alleviate stress. I have a facial treatment that exfoliates the skin, getting rid of toxins and dead skin. It helps to minimize wrinkles, brighten our skin and increase elasticity, and although the waxing part of our treatments isn’t pleasant, it does work to detach hair and leave our legs and bikini part smooth and soft. I also schedule threading to shape our eyebrows! Going to the spa keeps myself and others looking younger and reminds myself and others of why I work so hard. I put in all those minutes at our desk so that I can afford to spoil myself now and then.
