Proper ventilation will save you on air conditioning costs in summer

I did not pay much attention to my HVAC system since it was installed until I had to pay very expensively for it one summer.

I was out for about one afternoon only to come back to a home that was heated.

I remember turning the AC on. I even set the smart thermostat remotely before I left my friend’s house one hour before heading home, so there was no way I could be wrong. It turns out that the system was blowing in hot air and not a cold one. I wondered what this was so when I had done everything right, in my opinion. This would be a long night and an uncomfortable one, so I decided to call the AC expert to check it out. I knew it was late, and I was just trying my luck. Fortunately, he was in the neighborhood finishing up with an earlier appointment, and he decided to come by. The first thing he noticed was how poorly ventilated my house was. I had switched up the windows with sliding ones that closed off completely whenever I was out of the house. The little louvers on the doors did not let in enough air, and therefore, there was little circulation. I had also sealed off most of the open spaces last winter when it got too cold. While this helped during winter, it was disastrous when the temperatures were too high. As a result, my air conditioner was overworked and overheated. While he could get the AC running correctly again, this was a short-term temporary solution. The following day, I had my husband call a handyman to explore the possibilities of creating more ventilation. The HVAC professional came with a team from the HVAC business center to help service the HVAC unit.
